Although it was the second part of an ongoing series, the club made it a point to briefly go through all that had been covered in the previous session for the benefit of those who’d missed the first. The event itself majorly targeted students with a vested interest in Economics, but basic terms like dividends and sensex  were explained for the benefit of the large amount of beginners present.

The event started at the very basics, by explaining what a stock market actually was. After a preliminary outline of what was to be covered in this session was given, they dove right in. From defining a risk profile, to helping students identify what theirs could be, it was a thorough event to say the least. The event also aimed at teaching students the best way to identify the kind of stocks they wished to trade in, looking for growth potential and long term funds.

An event that could have easily turned monotonous, due to its lecture-like structure, was given a fun twist with videos and a healthy dose of anecdotes. Where to practice, virtual stock trading and what to avoid when you’re just starting out was all covered, with the promises of better details further into the series.

The event concluded with an interactive session, wherein students discussed graphs and ways of distinguishing between good investments and bad ones. It was a Tuesday evening well spent for all trading enthusiasts.
