Criminalisation of Marital Rape—A Crusade for Women’s Justice
Marital rape remains a non-criminalised crime in 36 countries, including India. For 158 years, the Indian jurisdiction has made a plethora of excuses for not outlawing conjugal rape. It is time we question the underlying implications of the state’s refusal to protect married women from violent sexual assault.
