The Astronomy Club of Manipal conducted a webinar by Dr Kaustubh Waghmare, a data scientist from IUCAA, on 31st October. The speaker shared valuable insights about his work and introduced eager students to the applications of machine learning and deep learning in astrophysics and astronomy.
The Data Science Club, Manipal organised a one day workshop on Natural Language Processing (NLP) on 4th April 2019. The workshop gave its participants an opportunity to learn about NLP and how it could be used to create a deep learning model. This model was then used to generate scripts for the popular animated sitcom, Rick and Morty.
The Data Science Club held an interesting workshop on Image Recognition using deep learning. They explained the process of neural networks and how image classifiers work while studying Image Recognition, as it is a widely used introductory example in the field of Machine Learning.
IEEE’s Tech Talk 2.0 tried to demystify the complex field of Artificial Intelligence. It featured talks by three students well-versed in the subject and proved to be very enlightening for the students.
An overwhelming amount of knowledge poured into a small KMC hall over two enthusiastic and refreshingly informative days at Dronaid’s Disruptive Healthcare Workshop. From studying logistic regression algorithms and applying to real-life revolutionary medical predictions of breast cancer or heart disease, the Deep Learning and AI workshop was the right advance in strengthening the bond between anatomy and technology, all in an inquisitive zeal to make healthcare one of humanity’s strongest assets in the coming future.
In yet another way, Manipal city has proven to be one of the finest centres of formal education. To carry this baton one notch higher, MIT has signed up with the leading AI giant – Nurture.AI to reproduce the AI Sundays workshops.
