One of Revels’ most anticipated categories, Footloose lived up to the hype with its lineup of events that explored every aspect of dance as an art form. From classical to hip hop and improv to choreographed dances, Footloose had something in store for everybody who likes to shake a leg every time they hear music.
Dance is a form of art that transcends languages and words, and invokes emotions in anyone who bears witness to it. Footloose outdid itself this Revels, hosting an immensely talented and enthusiastic crowd.

One of the few things that captures the cultural diversity of India is Dance. Footloose, the official dance category of Revels’17, managed to capture every aspect of the art of dancing during the Pre-Revels events.
Hand in hand, chest to chest or toe to toe – Footloose has something to float everyone’s boat. It’s where they come to let their hair down, shake a leg and more. From ‘Mujra’ on Gangnam Style to a routine on Hedwig’s theme, the dance category’s seen it all. Need we say more?
The MIT Post’s latest endeavor is to create a database of the myriad clubs, student societies, and student projects present in Manipal. We plan to increase the awareness of every MITian about the activities going on inside and outside the campus. Here is a list of all the different student bodies, both official, non official and hobby clubs, that an MITian can be a part of. We hope that you find a club which is tailored to your skills and interests.
The Pre Revels week drew to a close on 14th February and thus concluded an enjoyable week of cultural events.
One such event was Footloose’s duet dance competition known as Two of a Kind.
IIM Bangalore’s fest, Unmaad- one of the largest fests organised in the country. MIT, Manipal won the over-all first prize.
