With an array of games to provide a much-needed break to the students, Revels’19 organised one of the most awaited categories, Gaming, at the Innovation Centre.
DOTA 2, Counter-Strike: GO, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, FIFA and PUBG Mobile were the games played at the event. Blur, though part of the lineup, got cancelled due to a low number of participants. The highlight of the entire event was Rainbow Six Siege. Being held for the first time, it had 135 participants playing online.
As always, the event was held with multiple rounds and game modes. FIFA was played on PC due to the absence of consoles which sparked a significant delay during some games. Though not originally planned, this did not deter the participants, and the organisers kept the event running smoothly. The participants were in constant communication with their fellow teammates and were implementing various strategies to outsmart their competitors, providing exciting, nail-biting matches for the crowd to enjoy.
“Gaming was one of the most popular categories of Revels. We saw massive participation from across the country. The crowd enjoyed both playing, as well as spectating the breathtaking close head-ons. After the fixtures were done, us organisers had a great time as well. At last, the teams with skill and coordination proved themselves to be the best”, said Raunak, the category head of Gaming. With yet another successful venture, Gaming left a lot of minds energised and rejuvenated to battle out the rest of the semester.
