The Conclave Lineup 2018
A star-studded lineup of speakers for The Manipal Conclave 2018 was revealed at the Student Plaza on Wednesday evening. With leading personalities from fields ranging from tech to television, this year’s edition of the Conclave just might end up as the most exciting one yet.
Radhika Apte made her debut in the Indian film industry in 2005. Since then, she has acted in several national and regional films including Antaheen (Bengali), Kabali (Tamil), and Pad Man (Hindi). Over the past year, she has rapidly shot to fame on the success of several critically-acclaimed TV shows like Sacred Games, Lust Stories, Stories by Rabindranath Tagore, and Ghoul.
“I Hack Ethically”, proclaims Kanishk Sajnani, who has, as of May 2017, hacked over a dozen Indian companies, including Air India, Spice Jet, Faasos, and Cleartrip. He aims to highlight and correct the flaws in companies’ cybersecurity with his unconventional methods.
Ashwin Sanghi’s career as an author began in 2006. Since then, he has written several bestselling novels including a trilogy (The Rozabal Line, Chanakya’s Chant and The Krishna Key) and a 2018 publication, Keepers of the Kalachakra. Sanghi, having explored historical and mythological themes, has been referred to as the Indian Dan Brown by many.
Former Captain of Indian Hockey Team
Sandeep Singh, often referred to as Flicker Singh, is a hockey player currently working as a DSP with the Haryana Police. His dedication towards the sport and sheer skill and grit won him the Arjuna Award in 2010.
Jatin Sarna is an Indian film and theatre actor and a stage director. A versatile artist, he attained remarkable fame for playing the role of Bunty in the Netflix show Sacred Games.
Jitendra Kumar is an Indian actor and web personality famous for his role as a part of the YouTube channel The Viral Fever. An alumnus of the Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur, he is known for his roles as Jitendra Maheshwari, Gittu, and Arjun Kejriwal ( a parody of Arvind Kejriwal).
Shivankit Singh Parihar
Shivankit Singh Parihar is an Indian actor, writer, and web personality known for his role in The Viral Fever. He is famous for his roles in TVF Bachelors, Barely Speaking in Arnub, and Shuruaat Ka Interval.
Brigadier Surjit Pabla
Former Director of MIT
Brigadier Surjit Pabla served in the army for over thirty years, participating in the Indo-Pak War of 1971. He has served as a professor at the College of Military Engineering, Pune. Brig. Brigadier Pabla has had a close relationship with the Manipal Group, having served as the Director of MIT and the Pro-Vice Chancellor of Manipal University.
Prajakta Koli is an Indian YouTube personality and video blogger. Known popularly by her YouTube name MostlySane, her videos have over a hundred million views and over two million subscribers. Having recently been signed up as the face of H&M India’s online store, she is also the Indian Ambassador for YouTube’s global initiative Creators for Change.
Ananya Roy has previously donned the roles of a writer, poet, and public speaker. This Conclave, she’s all set to take the stage to talk about what she feels is her one true passion—Music. After winning gold at the Music Quest of 2011, Roy taught herself jazz theory and music production. Roy is currently working on a self-produced jazz-fusion album.
