Computer Applications Based on Modern Algebra – National Workshop-cum-Conference

On the occasion of MIT’s Diamond Jubilee Celebrations, the Department of Computer Science & Engineering and the Department of Mathematics jointly conducted the 2nd National Workshop-cum-Conference “Computer Applications based on Modern Algebra”.
The workshop highlighted concepts from modern algebra and demonstrated their applications in computer science. It was encouraging to note that computer algebra has evolved as a discipline linking advanced algebra to methods of computer science and thus offering many tools. The workshop-cum-conference focused on algorithms and algebraic computations, finite fields and applications, algebraic codes, soft computing techniques, algebraic cryptography, and recent developments in these areas.
The event provided an ideal platform for the faculty, researchers, and the students in the various disciplines of science and engineering to reinforce their knowledge. The participants of this conference benefited from recent trends of modern algebra and its applications. The latest research work was presented in the invited sessions/short communication sessions of the conference.
The National Workshop-cum-Conference was supported by funding agencies Science & Engineering Research Board (SERB-DST Govt. of India), National Board for Higher Mathematics (NBHM-DAE, Govt. of India), Indian National Science Academy (INSA, Govt. of India), Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO, Govt. of India), and Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR, Govt. of India).
