Dr G Satheesh Reddy, the Chairman of DRDO and Secretary of Department of Defence R&D, recently addressed MIT students as the first speaker of the TechTatva ’19 Talk Series. He enlightened the audience about developments on the nation’s defence front, and encouraged students to put efforts into research that will help in strengthening the country’s security.

From classical to hip hop and improv to choreographed dances, Footloose had something in store for everybody who likes to shake a leg every time they hear music.
Open Category event Wordsworth presented a mixed bag of activities that catered to those who cherish both—the written and spoken word. Participants got their thinking caps on for an intense round of story-writing, followed by light-hearted game rounds that left the audience in splits of laughter.
Hosting a myriad of literary events and fun-filled activities, Anubhuti, the only category catering to the Hindi populace on campus provided a platform to fire up your creative instincts and test your wits.
A perfect platform for connoisseurs of photography, Lensation provided its participants with a wide variety of events. From technical events like Know Your Camera, to contests even laymen could indulge in and enjoy, like Mobile Photography, Lensation became a treasure trove for shutterbugs on campus.
The Human Library was an event conducted for the first time in Manipal during Revels’19. Looking to provide a platform for real, difficult and unconventional conversations between the ‘readers’ and ‘books’, the event was well received by the students and helped open up topics including prejudices, social exclusion and mental health problems.
The third edition of one of the largest competitions hosted here, The Manipal- Debate Tournament, more popularly known as MIT-DT gave participants a platform to voice their opinions. The event drew a large crowd and witnessed several spirited arguments celebrating the right to free speech.
Crescendo brought out the budding musicians of Manipal on to the stage, giving them an opportunity to display their mettle. With its multitude of events and lucrative prizes, this category evoked a spirit of healthy competition among the contestants. From soft rock bands to R&B singers, Crescendo had something in store for everyone.
Real fans of Anime and Manga, experienced a true sense of homecoming at Animania’19. With their flagship events—Chunin Exam, The Manga Project, and Liar Game, Animania succeeded in providing a delightful and refreshing experience to all its participants.
