With the onset of COVID, the usual hubbub of activities have come to a halt. However, Youth For Volunteering has overcome the boundaries placed on their regular social service activities. Through Aashayein, volunteers and children were able to connect and interact in the virtual world. Regardless of the current situation, this fun-filled event put a smile on everyone’s faces.
In this mighty labyrinth of a world, we often stumble along dead ends and lose ourselves in that maze. Instead of offering help, society turns a blind eye to this mental struggle. This talk raises questions on how to navigate through those struggles and move forward and counter the stigma around mental health.
Admit Kard organised a webinar on 11 July 2020 in an effort to address the concerns of the students who are seeking admissions to foreign universities. Mr Rachit Agarwal, the co-founder of Admit Kard, was the guest speaker at the event and took questions from the students. The event was well organised and gave the attendees a fair idea of the state of education abroad. Everyone who attended was given access to a mentorship programme free of cost by Admit Kard.
On 5th July, The Photography Club conducted an online colour theory workshop. This workshop explored the intricacies of the world of colours and meaning behind them.
Birds of a feather flocked together for another consultancy talk by The Consulting Club at Manipal. The event featured a remarkable webinar by MIT alumnus Rohit Chadha, who delivered a compelling presentation on management consulting.
The Consulting Club at Manipal conducted its first event, Case on Point, on 12th March. The event uniquely catered to students interested in the financial and business sector by teaching the art of case studying, required to pursue this field.
IOSD organised an interactive tech-talk session between the students and Miri Rodriguez, the global head of Internship at Microsoft. The students were briefed on the nuances of working in the corporate world and the various opportunities available to them at Microsoft. The importance of empathy in a workspace was also stressed upon by the speaker as she interacted with the audience.
ESoM held a workshop in collaboration with Samnidhy on February 7, 2020 with the intention of educating the audience on Industry and Market Analysis. The event touched upon all the basics and while the topics were quite dry, the end of the workshop saw participants wanting more.
