Mathematics plays an integral part in an engineer’s life. Through Integrathon, a dual round calculus competition, the students’ deftness and approach towards problem solving was tested. The atmosphere, rife with competition, proved to be the perfect catalyst for an eventful and spirited integration battle.
Integrathon was a multi-round event organized under the Alacrity Category. As the name suggests, it was a contest wherein teams had to solve questions on integral calculus. To put MITians’ calculus skills to the test, teams of two got 2 minutes to solve the same question and the team that solved the problem quicker and accurately fetched the points in the first round. Six teams battled it out to bring out the top 5 that moved ahead in the contest.
Integrathon brought forth the ‘mathemagicians’ in the students, eager to showcase their skills. The fierce competition among teams made this event a huge success. The questions were challenging and exciting, making the atmosphere charged with friendly competition. The purpose of the event was to bring together young engineers with a passion for mathematics and encourage them to solve problems through teamwork and communication.
“Integrathon integrated MIT student’s problem solving skills and of course it promoted the fun of learning” – Dr. Harinakshi Karkera(judge)
The event enabled students to solve complex problems using multiple approaches. It was a great opportunity for the students to develop problem-solving skills and hone their competitive spirit. Integrathon was a great success, proving to be a fun and enjoyable experience for all participants.
